The
Freedom to Be Yourself (TFTBY or FTBY)
Focused
on "the human racial view of public nakedness" and "human
race activism". Information written by founder
Vincent Bethell can be found at the Human
Race Activism site. TFTBY and its supporters established
Stop Segregation.
Stop
Segregation
Supporters
of the Freedom to Be Yourself (TFTBY or FTBY) organized a grassroots
for "the planning of mass naked protests in public".
This is one of the best ways currently that organizers are
coming together for actions across the globe. The original
goals for this group are described at the Human
Race Activism site:
"The
planning of mass naked protests in public. No leaders, no campaign.
It is up to you, it will only happen if you want it to. Equal
participation for every body. Freedom for Every BODY: The Human
Race" (-Bethell)

information can be viewed at the group's web site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stopsegregation/
(Note:
While this forum was formed by supporters of TFTBY, the group
represents diverse ideological views sometimes outside of "the
human racial view of public nakedness")
TFTBY
Support Network
General
discussions about public nudity-related topics. This Yahoo
E-group is moderated by Joey Blue of Philadelphia, PA.
Many people who subscribe to Stop Segregation also belong to
this group. More information can be viewed at the group's web
site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tftby-supportnetwork/
(Note:
Depite this group being called TFTBY Support Network, it is
rare that the group actually focuses on "the human racial
view of public nakedness" that TFTBY focuses on. Confused?
TFTBY Support Network formed to have more general discussion
about public nudity that has sometimes been discouraged in
the TFTBY's Stop Segregation discussion group)

The
TV documentary series 'Taboo - 40 Years of Censorship. Part
1 of 4: Shock of the Nude'; BBC2 9:50 pm (40 mins). Aired
Wednesday, 21 Nov 2001. (official informational web site no
longer online)
The
following is a review by Richard A. Collins, and was posted
to the stop segregation discussion group on Nov 22, 2001:
"40
mins of well informed presentation featuring plenty of 'happy
to be naked' people in different situations and showing how
nude acceptance, and in particular censorship, has changed
in the UK since the early 70's.
Vincent
was featured walking naked through the streets of London while
being interviewed by the presenter, the well respected Joan
Bakewell, during which Vincent clearly stated that in the 'Public
Nuisance' trial the jury found him not guilty by a unanimous
verdict. Amused onlookers didn't have a problem with Vincent's
nudity - one guy shouted encouragement - and a young girl said
she thought it was amusing when asked by Joan what she thought.
Vincent
was also given air time while sitting relaxed indoors (still
naked) where he explained how the whole idea of TFTBY started.
Footage of the news report when Vincent scaled that famous
lamppost was also shown. "
Richard
Collins and Bernard Boase have
been enjoying freedom in and around Cambridge, England with
nude bicycling and strolls through town. He has been organizing
several protests on the Stop
Segregation discussion group.
Richard,
who lives in Hardwick, Cambridge has been arrested numerous
times and released. Richard says: "My outings are NOT
protests as such but 'activities'. Simply me having fun! And
exercising my right to nude freedom!"

Vincent
Bethell is a "human race activist" in England
who has, along with others, gone through several cycles of
protest/persecution in order to restore basic human freedoms.
He was instrumental in creating the Human
Race Activism web site, introducing others
to the Freedom to be Yourself, and providing a framework
for activists across the globe to organize protests. His
groundbreaking legal case history has helped others in England.

From
the UK group's website: "PEACE - it’s such a simple
word, but it has many connotations in the current political
climate. So, it takes a certain amount of courage to speak
out against war these days. To speak out publicly, stripped
of anonymity and clothing takes even more courage."
